225g (8oz) Flour
110g (4oz) Lard
110g (4oz) Caster Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Baking Powder
Pinch salt

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Add the sugar.
Rub in lard until mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
Lightly beat the egg and add with enough milk to produce a thick batter.
Cook spoonsful on a lightly greased bakestone, until golden brown on both sides.

Makes approximately 6.
