Welsh Cakes

450g (1lb) Flour
110g (4oz) Lard
110g (4oz) Butter or Margarine
50g (2oz) Dried Fruit
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 Egg
A little milk

Sieve flour, baking-powder and salt together
Rub in butter and lard and mix into stiff paste, adding the egg and milk.
Add the dried fruit.
Roll out thinly and cut into rounds.
Cook on a bakestone, until golden brown.
Serve hot with butter, honey or jam.
