Christmas is coming and doesn’t it seem to arrive quicker each year?
This year I have added a whole new section to help with the preparations and suggest a few recipes you might feel like trying.
If there will be vegetarians at lunch there’s an article and some recipes from the Vegetarian Society offering advice and suggestions.
There’s a countdown to Christmas, so you can prepare as much as possible beforehand, to make it easier on the day.
I hope a basic timetable for the day might be of use too, as it’s often difficult to work out the timings for all of the elements which go to producing the meal. I haven’t included either starters or desserts, as these can vary so much.

Christmas lunch is a meal when the whole family should be involved, whether it is by preparing vegetables, stirring sauces or by doing the washing up - a simple rule for Christmas: The cook does NOT wash-up!!!
