Historic Recipes

This area of the web-site is dedicated to historical recipes.
There are now four sections of history covered Victorian/Edwardian, Regency, Middle Ages and Roman recipes.
All you have to do is click on the menu item (on the left) to view the index of the recipes available.
Also have a look at the Mrs Beeton revisited for the 21st century section which has many interesting recipes.

Within these sections there are 'stock' ingredients which are commonly used within the recipes, such as Almond Milk in Medieval or Liquamen in Roman recipes.
Where these occur we have added a link to the page containing the recipe to make it easier for you to follow.

Please Note:
Many of the recipes included have not been tried, so we are unable to guarantee the outcome.
If you do try any of them we would be very interested to hear you views.
Also: Sorry, but it is NOT possible to answer queries about any of the recipes, what you see is what there is.

As with any recipes they are only outlines and should be customised (where necessary) to suit your personal tastes.

We would like to add many more historical sections to this website, so if you can help please let us know.

We hope that you enjoy.
