Roman Egg Custard

from Marcus Gavius Apicius. De Re Coquinaria

450ml (¾ pint) Milk
6 Eggs, beaten
3 tbsp Honey
Pinch of Pepper

Place the milk in a double boiler.
Add the milk, eggs and honey.
Whisk continually until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth.
Sprinkle with pepper and serve.
