Asparagus With Oranges

A recipe from the 16th century.

675g (1½lb) Asparagus
150ml (¼ pint) Orange juice
30ml (2 tbsp) Olive oil
Salt
White pepper

Preheat oven to 240°C: 475°F: Gas 9
Clean asparagus and cut to a uniform length.
Pour the oil into an ovenproof dish and add the asparagus in a single layer.
Season with salt and pepper.
Add orange juice and cover with an cooking foil.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Serves 6.
