Pizza Dough
15g (˝oz) Fresh or Dried Yeast
15g (˝oz) Sugar
285ml (˝ pint) Warm Water
225g (8oz) Strong Bread Flour
2 tsp Olive Oil
Pinch Salt
If using fresh yeast mix it into a paste with 4-5 tablespoons of water and the sugar, allow to stand in a warm place for about 10 minutes, or until frothy.
If using dried yeast follow the instructions on the packet.
Sift the flour and slat into a bowl, make a well in the centre.
Pour in the yeast mixture, water and oil.
Use a small palette knife (or similar) to mix.
When it comes together as a dough, turn it out on to a floured surface.
Knead well for at least 5 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Place in a bowl, cover with a clean cloth and allow to stand for 30-45, until doubled in size.
Turn out on to a floured surface and knead for a few minutes.
The dough is ready for use and can be made into one or several pizzas.
Add the topping of your choice and bake until the topping is cooked and the dough is risen and golden.
